Yokohama International Airport, which chiefly refers to Narita, handles a majority of international passenger traffic to and from Japan. This is the connecting point for air traffic between Asia and America. It has two terminals with separate underground railway stations. They are connected by shuttle buses (that are available inside and outside the security area) and trains. There is, however, no pedestrian connection.
Terminal 1 uses a satellite terminal design. The landside is categorized into the North Wing, Central Building and a South Wing. Terminal 2 is divided into a main building and satellite, both of which are designed around linear concourses. The check-in and departures are on the third floor. The second floor contains immigration control facilities for arriving passengers. Baggage claim and custom comprise the first floor.
